Alternatives to Employment Service and Post School Options programs focused on community inclusion, valued status and learning

 

Explore Leisure is Workpower's Alternatives to Employment and Post School Options program (formerly known as Explore Alternatives), offering an alternative for people with disability for whom work is not a viable option.

 

Explore Leisure current operates from two sites; Belmont and Girrawheen.  Before the end of the year we will have new services in Rockingham/Kwinana and Midland! 

 

 

Explore Leisure helps participants become an inportant part of the community, through programs that are designed to encourage learning, interaction, community inclusion and valued status.

 

We offer a meaningful service for our participants by:

 

  • Providing a highly innovative, flexible and individualised service
  • Building on an individual's abilities
  • Assisting people with disability pursue their interests in the community

 

 

Some of our most successful programs have included:

 

  • Volunteering program at Yanchep National Park, involving horticultural activities, such as tree planting and sowing native seeds.
  • Fitness programs, which have included swimming, bush walking and horse riding, where the activity has been tailored to meet each individual's needs.
  • Creative art program where participants have created a collection of artwork using different mediums. The artwork is on display at Explore's premises.
